Privacy Policy
CardKeeper: Business Cards was designed so that your contacts stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. Summa Cruxis does not operate an account system and does not keep your contacts.
What CardKeeper stores
Contacts you save, the original front and back card images, profile photos, where you met, private notes, interaction history, groups and keywords are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled, they synchronize through Apple's iCloud private database associated with your Apple Account so they appear on your iPhone and Mac. Summa Cruxis cannot access that database.
AI card reading (optional)
CardKeeper asks before using AI card reading and explains it on screen. When you allow it, the image or images of the card you have just scanned are sent over an encrypted connection to a card-reading service operated by Summa Cruxis on Cloudflare, which passes them to OpenAI to read the card. The structured reading comes back to your device for you to review.
These requests do not include your saved contacts, notes, other photos or your Apple Account details. The service does not store card images or the text read from them. It records technical information only: timings, status codes, the AI model used, the number of images and the processing cost.
CardKeeper asks OpenAI not to store responses as API history. OpenAI and Cloudflare may still retain request data for a limited period for security and abuse monitoring under their own policies.
You can turn AI card reading off at any time. CardKeeper then reads cards on your device only and sends nothing. Turning it off cannot retract a card that was already sent.
Other people's information
Business cards contain other people's contact details. You decide which cards to scan, what to keep and what to share. Shared contacts leave out your private notes unless you choose to include them.
Diagnostics
CardKeeper keeps a short diagnostic log on your device to help with support. It records steps, timings and status codes, never card text, images, contact details, credentials or account names. It leaves your device only if you choose to share it.
What CardKeeper does not do
CardKeeper contains no advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking or data brokerage. Summa Cruxis does not sell personal information.
Your control
You can edit or delete any contact, export your contacts or a complete backup with images, turn AI card reading off, and manage iCloud synchronization in your device settings. Deleting a contact on one device removes it from your other devices through iCloud.
Children
CardKeeper is a business productivity app and is not directed to children. Summa Cruxis does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will accompany an app update or updated App Store information.
